We give our congratulations to Dr. Nadya Arafuri from Universitas Gadjah Mada for her first international publication at Global Heart Journal. She is a pediatrician and a student at our Health-I project.
The title of her research article is “Survival of Left-to-Right Shunt Repair in Children with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension at a Tertiary Hospital in a Low-to-Middle-Income Country”.
This research highlights the fact that in low-to-middle-income countries, repair of the left-to-right shunts congenital heart disease (CHD) are often done with existing pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). This repair of left-to-right shunt CHD with PAH has a favourable outcome with accurate PAH reversibility assessment prior to intervention. Inferior survival is found in patients with persistence of PAH. PVRi at baseline predicts between-group survival difference.
We also congratulate all the mentors: Indah K. Murni, Nikmah S. Idris, Cuno S. P. M. Uiterwaal, Ary I. Savitri, Sasmito Nugroho and Noormanto. You are all doing great in your collaboration with students and produced excellent epidemiological research.
We hope to see other future research collaborations from all of the students of Health-I project.
