On 10-12 July 2019, a face to face (F2F) meeting took place at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Thirty Indonesian participants, including students and tutors, attended this meeting as consortium members of the HEALTH-I project in Indonesia. The delegation consisted of the four Indonesian partner universities (Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Hasanuddin, and Universitas Padjajaran).
This meeting upheld the implementation of ongoing learning online modules by providing an opportunity for student participants to meet F2F with resource person Rebecca Stelatto, the Assistant Professor of Biostatistics at the Julius Center (UMC Utrecht). The face to face meeting enables participants to gain comprehensive understanding in clinical epidemiology, particularly in statistics as they could interact next to the current online module.
Sessions in this meeting included: the challenges and barriers in learning statistics online; review of learning materials from previous and ongoing modules; interactive discussion on statistical analysis; and application of statistical knowledge and skill. The face to face meeting was evaluated afterwards.
All participants found this meeting to be very helpful and hope for more F2F meetings in the future.
